  1. OHHHHH you have no idea how relaxing it is to almost drown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Personaly i think the feeling of your lungs about to blow up is the most peacful and relaxing bit about it !!!!!!!! and the panack of not been able to open your eyes to see if there is a way to get to the top of the water is so fun !!!!!!!!!! the really bad headach you get from the lack of oxegon........so cool !!!!!!!

  2. on the contrary, drowning is one of the most painful ways to day.

i myself have never had a near miss, but i have a friend who did and had to be resuscitated when she was young; now she refuses to swim :(

    from http://allphilosophy.com/topic/1926   :

"most painful way to die is drowning in water. you try to hold your breath for as long as you can, till the point comes you have to take a breath but all you get is water no air. so your lungs fill with water causing all the air sacs to be crushed until they burst. so then your lungs push together to expell the water and blood untill finnaly you die from lack of oxeygen."

despite all this, i suppose the only way to know is to experience it first-hand.

  3. Along with fire, drowning is the worse way to die.  Think about it, trying to hold your breath because you are under water and fighting the urge to breathe...when you do...you fill your lungs with fluid and panic.

Yes..I nearly drowned in a swimming pool back in high school

  4. Why would you think that? You're not unconscious! You're wide awake and usually caused by panicking. Why would you think being scared to death because you can't breath a nice way to die??? I think the only nice way to die is to go in your sleep, you'll never know.

  5. I was accidently drowned a year ago when i was on my school picnic boating...  and that was my next birth...

it really took me to the previous step before death...

it was very terrifying...  i struggled a lot to breath and escape...

    i can never forget it...

  6. Nobody can actually tell because "nearly drowned" still isn't the same as "drowned".

Personally, after having been close to death a couple of times, I'd say that  as soon as you stop fightng and just trail off to Nowhere Land, there's no anxiety, no fear, no pain, nothing except acceptance and final darkness. But again, I didn't die, so what do I really know.

  7. Think about it. your lungs filling with water, constricting your breath, the pain in your chest getting worse and worse. The bodies automatic response causing you to panic and gasp drawing more water into your lungs. and then death. M.

  8. Drowning is one of the worst because u struggle to hold ur breath in. As soon as you breath out the water rushes in and floods your pulmonary tissue this is said the feel like boiling oil is being poured down your windpipe. This lasts for about 7 seconds then you go unconsious.

  9. I drowned when I was 17 - completely dead and had to be revived with CPR. The panic was horrible. I don't remember any pain with the actual drowning but I clearly remember the pure terror knowing I can't get to the surface....

I think a shot gun would be a more pleasant way to go.

  10. I find drowning one of the worst ways to die.

  11. I don't think that it would be a nice way initially because your body will resist. However, when you finally are dying, I imagine it would be quite peaceful as you are able to look up and see the sun reflecting on the water.

  12. i nearly drowned at age 12, and can tell you! it is not!! pleasant! it took me several years to get over fear of deep water!!

  13. This is one of the most unpleasant ways to die.  Drowning involves you running out of oxygen.  It's painful (trying holding you breath for long under water and you'll feel burning in your lungs).  And, worse, it's mentally very difficult.  Due to the need for air, our bodies are built to panic during situations where air into available.  As you say, it's scary.

Nice ways to die are those where it's quick (drowning can take several minutes), you're unaware, and your body's defense mechanisms don't kick in.  This is why sleeping pills, for example, work well.  They SLOW your defense mechanisms and eliminate the emotional (panic) aspect.  Freezing to death is not as "nice," but it's a whole lot better than drowning.

  14. i was on holiday and i was swimming a boy who couldn't swim jumped on to my back the air rushed out of me instantly he pushed me deeper and as we were in the deep end of the pool when he realized we were sinking he started to panic making it even harder for me to swim to the surface. we were under for about 45 seconds i managed to shove him off and as i swam to the surface i pulled him up with me. it was horible looking back i was sure i was going to die. i suppose its nicer then say being burned or something really painful but try breathing out then see how long you can hold your breath for without breathing in.

  15. I would have to say I doubt it it would be like suffocating and fighting for your last breath .  underneath the water is a scary thought for me and am a water baby  not the quickest way to go I could be wrong . I would say the most peaceful has got to be in your sleep ...all thoughts of death are pretty scary tho but I d rather drown then some other horrific death so I d give it a 4 out of ten 10 being the worst .

  16. Yeah! I heard that too. I don't imagine it would be a great way to die, though, no matter what they say. It's like strangulation and youre unable to breathe, and you can't help yourself. Yikes. It sounds bad. But, yeah, I have heard that it's kind of euphoric. Hm.....but i still don't want to find out anytime soon!

  17. don't now no one as come back and told us
