  1. Is difficult to determine the truth of the statement because the number of injuries would need control some sort of control group.  It you compare the two parties in the accident consider that a drunk driver is very likely to be the CAUSE of the accident and the vehicle protection systems ( excluding side airbags) are designed to protect the occupant in this scenario.  Please don't take advice to left go of the controls of your car...If how have time to react to a road hazard you may have to to evade it.  Many injuries to a occupant are blunt trauma due to interior impacts the forces involved are at least 10x what your muscles can develop.

  2. As the muscle relaxes, the joints and bones are more flexible and less prone to injuries.

  3. I believe it has to do with their posture...They are relaxed and do not "tense up" or grip the steering wheel hard..

When you are relaxed the safety systems in the car work better cause you are essentially part of the car...

When you make avoiding type movements as a lot of people do you get injured more...

I read that if you ever are in an accident and see the other car or whatever coming you should let go of the wheel and relax you will fare better..

  4. not sure.they usually don't wear seatbelts....

I do know they cause the majority of accidents.......

  6. Is not true.
