  1. Just look at what percentage of the H-1B quota is eaten up by Indian nationals, that speaks for itself. I can never understand why so many Indians want to come here....they culturally don't tend to do very well in America at all. They stick to their own Indian communities here. Not to mention that they are abused like you wouldn't believe on the job, because for whatever reason it is completely against their religion and culture to say the word "no" to anyone. That trait certainly won't get you very far in Corporate America, you need a backbone here if you want to survive :)

  2. Previously it used to be the case, as the earning in America was more in terms of dollars as compared to INR, but as the dollar value is decreasing today the case is not so. Today in India itself people get paid better than they would get paid in America, so the craze has gone down, and will go down further due to the speedy development happening in India

  3. Not hardly.

Today, One US Dollar = 42.52 Indian Rupees. So your mom gave more than $1,000(!) to a homeless girl. Guess your mom is VERY well-off, huh?

  4. Yes. Because US is heaven made by God.

  5. only the educated ones, just because pay is so low in India, they can work for 20 years in the USA and go back to India and not have to worry about money for the rest of their lives, actually many go to Australia, Canada and the UK more so than the USA

  6. I don't know why? all our jobs are being sent over there.

  7. In fact, reasons are many.

    1) You get a higher pay in US for the same work. It is especially for the lower level work. In India, the salary differences between an educated professional and a manual labour is much more than that in USA. So, many people immigrate to USA as Cab drivers, shop salesmen etc.

    2) US ia techonologically advanced country than India and it is attractive for educated professionals as they get better exposure to higher level technology which greatly help them to build a career.

    3) US has better infrastructure and high living standard and for many higher level professionals find it attractive to live in USA than India.

    4) For many, who completed their studies in USA, there were not many opportunities back in India due to technological gap. However, this gap has reduced much recently.

Anyway, as in one of earlier answers, some of these reasons are becoming less compelling as India is also progressing.

50,000 Rs is a good amount in India considering many manual labourers get paid only 200 Rs per day. 50,000 Rs is equivalent roughly to 1200 USD.
