Is it true that heart monitors "record" cell phone calls?

My father-in-law is wearing a heart monitor and he was told by a nurse that the cell phone would cause interference with the monitor and it would cause the monitor to not only record his heartbeats but his phone conversations as well. I think that this is not true but can someone give me some scientific evidence to back this up please??

  1. you already had a professional tell you, what else do you want ??

  2. omg lmao!!!!  heart monitors have nothing with which to record sound, while an older model cell phone can indeed interfere with a strong signal creating what we call "artifact" in the recording of the heart's electrical activity...it cannot be recorded, like a tape recorder...that's just ridiculous.  The newer model cell phone frequencies are set such that they almost never interfere with medical devices anymore.
