I heard it somewhere, and I just wanted to make sure of it.

I was in a barbershop yesterday, and I overheard a conversation about some guy that smoked pot heavily. He also said that he was 24, but the thing is....he's only about 5' 4". He said that he'd been doing it since he was in high school(it was a very long conversation).

I'm 17 and about 5' 7.5", but the thing is, my dad apparently drank heavily during his first 2 years(age 18-19) of college and now, he's about 5' 8". What I'm asking is, if I abstain from drinking and smoking(which I will), can I still grow taller, or has what my father done to himself somehow genetically linked to me? I have a relatively good diet, and when I get in college, I plan to do a lot of exercising to keep in shape. Thanks.

  1. I really doubt pot smoking made that guy short.  Pot smokers can never smoke nearly as much as cigarette smokers do (can you imagine me smoking two packs of joints a day... 40 joints?).  But other than yes, absolutely drinking and smoking stunt your growth.  And nothing someone has "done" to themselves can be linked to you, but a tendency towards addiction can be handed down for sure.

  2.   You  grow  till  your  25  and  yes  it  affects  your  Growth
