Is it true that humans are not the main cause of global warming?

I saw a special on tv about how global warming was not caused by humans. They had information about how 97% of CO2 on earth is caused naturally and only about 3 % caused by humans. Now I have looked up on google about this and I can't find anything to back it up. so could this be a lie?

in earth's 4 billion years, it's warmed and cooled many times.

until now, clearly it's not our fault.

in addition, there is clearly an oxygen / CO2 cycle that plants and animals participate in.

none of all that is in question.

what is in question is,  what has caused the 40% increase in CO2 levels in the atmosphere today?

and, what effect is that increased CO2 having on the earth and the plants and animals living in it?

the rate at which plants and animals cycle O2 and CO2 is not the issue.

even if it was all cycled every day, it would not be in question.

the question is, why is there more CO2 in the air?

what effect is that having?

and if it's a negative effect, is there anything we can do about it?

today, all the honest science says that there is a problem.

It's partly a lie. Both humans and the natural earth are responsible. Humans are causing global warming because of the water pollution and air pollution(gas for cars, trash in the ocean, etc.) The Earth causes it just like you said, well part of it...

not completely, we have a big part but this is something that happens over and over again in nature, e.g on the sea floor there are huge amounts of frozen methane which for millenia have stayed frozen but with slight temperature changes will melt and add drastically to the problem .... this will pretty much be thanks to us, however life has a way of repairing itself very well, unfortunately it takes many thousands if not millions of years!

to sum it up i would say no it is not totally us but we gave it a good helping hand!

and to add to that i would say dont believe everything you see on tv because often they like to shock you, (channel 5 are the worst offenders here in the u.k) we dont fully cause the problem but we certainly trigger the problems alot,

if your more intersted on how these kind of things happen look into how the frozen methane reserves under the sea are and will add to the co2 problem, one thing to add;

cows create unbelievable amounts of c02 (most of which we have farmed) so this is one way they may say we are not the cause but if you look a little deeper you will realize it was us who encouraged so many cows to create this bi-product

One snowflake can set off an avalanche.   Just because that one snowflake isn't very much doesn't mean the avalanche won't cause much damage.    We might not be adding as much CO2 as nature put out there, but it was in balance before, now we are adding the little bit that's tipping the scales.

There has never been a special made claiming that global warming was not caused by humans which was not put on by a right wing political think tank with money interests at stake. Follow the money. Every legitimate piece of information from unbiased scientific institutions will tell you that mankind is the primary cause of the current warming.
