Is it true that hungry hungry hippos have changed ?

Are they smaller and frailer or has my memory clouded and it is not true?

OMG I loved this game as a kid:)

The new ones are much smaller.  It's harder to find the older, bigger ones because the box had to be adjusted because once assembled the game didn't fit back into the box.
