No he told us what animals were clan and unclean to eat. Leviticus 11 tells us in detail what animals we may eat.

I believe God did not want us to eat animals, even though I eat myself out of habit. Animals are also God's creatures, with souls. Love and hence, non-violence are true religion of God. People who don't eat meat can progress spiritually much quicker. But this is my thinkin gonly.

After the flood there was nothing to eat but meat.  It took time for all the plants to grow back.
