  1. No that is not true at all...

  2. i gained 15 pounds and had an eight pound baby

  3. No- I highly doubt it.  I was small to begin with.  My doctors wanted my to gain 30 pounds.  Well I was only able to gain 20 due to 9 months of morning sickness.  My baby was born at 38 weeks at a healthy 6 pounds 11 oz.

  4. Well I've only gained 18lbs and 38 weeks I'm not a big person just very physically fit . Per all my ultra sounds and measurings my baby will be well over 7lbs :) .

  5. Nope not true at all, some women lose weight on themselves and still gain weight on the baby. My bestfriend just had her baby and she was 10 pounds lighter when she delivered then before she was pregnant and her baby was a healthy 9 pounds!

  6. Nothing is true for everyone, but I believe the amount of weight you gain won't be as important as the nutrition that generates that weight.  I had hyperemesis gravidarium (I puked 20 hours a day and had to be fed with IVs) during my last pregnancy.  I weighed 152 at my first OB visit, and weighed 148 when they wheeled me in for delivery at 8 months, inducing labor early due to the weight loss.  My son was 19 inches long and weighed 6 pounds/11 ounces, so that's why I don't think the connection lies so much with the weight gain/loss as it does with the nutrition intake.

  7. Sometimes yes, sometimes no .A woman who gains very little is usually malnourished or on a starvation diet -- and that can often result in a low birthweight baby.

But if she's healthy and eating normally, and just gains less weight than average, her baby will probably be fine.

  8. There have been more and more studies proving that there isn't always a direct correlation between the mother's weight gain and the birth weight of the baby. My sister-in-law only gained about 13 pounds and delivered a 7 pound baby 2 weeks early. I've already gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy, and my daughter is weighing a bit lower than she should for 33 weeks. So it's not necessarily a myth, but it's not always the case.

    Good luck=]

  9. No that's not true!

  10. Hmm I dont think so.

  11. there is a recommended amount of weight gain for every woman...based on what she weighed before.   If u aren't gaining enough and the baby is not developing, the doctor will let u know.

  12. Nope... my sister in law gained 6lbs and had a 8lb baby.  Meanwhile, I've gained a staggering 50 (I was a tad underweight to begin with) and baby is measuring about 7lbs (via u/s, I'm due in 5 weeks) even though people say he's going to be huge because I gained so much.  Your body will do what it needs to do and it doesn't always mean your baby will follow suit.

  13. Not always. The only way that is true is if the mother didn't get the proper nutrients for the baby during pregnancy.

  14. Actually, I think the baby's weight is related to your blood sugar level.  The higher the blood sugar, the heavier the baby.

  15. no not true...i have 3 kids and my first child i gained 56lbs and he weighed 7lbs 14 ozs...i finally lost all that weight and got pregnant with 2nd and gain about 35lbs and he was 10lbs 9ozs LOL...now with my 3rd i only gained 12lbs and she weiged 7lbs 4 ozs

  16. NOT REALLY, MY AUNTY GAINED OVER 2 STONE WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT AND THE BABY ONLY WEIGHED 5LBS
