Is it true that if you are awake for 72 hours straight, 3 days, you're legally insane and can get away with murder?

yeah. but when they put you in the police car, you might fall asleep and by the time you get to a holding cell, you wouldn't have been awake for 3 days straight. so youd be tried like a sane person.

I don't think this is true because they don't technically have proof you were awake for 72 hours. It is true that you will most likely begin to hallucinate terribly bad.

Now if I knew you and you told me that you have been awake for 72 hours I would tell you that you were insane but just because I said you were insane it does not mean your actually kookoo..

That's kinds freaky! I know someone from my school, who was dared by someone from his psychology class to stay awake for as long as he could. I don't remember exactly how long he was awake (something like 2 days straight) and he was hallucinating...seeing people that weren't there, talking to him...I can see you not enough sleep could make you do some wacky things! Please don't try it though! :)
