That's what my uncle said after he visited New York this summer from California. He is an ex-New Yorker and he says that driving in California is much easier after he lived in Manhattan for almost 15 years. Is it true?

  1. If you have the patience, yes - you can drive in New York.  And I live in NJ.l

  2. hah if u can drive in the himalayas you can drive anywhere

  3. I've driven in many cities across the country, and as far as cities go NY is pretty bad. As for states NJ is the worse by it's volumn of cars. It has more people and cars per sq mi. than any other state, but in the US if you really want to drive roads that put your fortitude to the test, two places that come to mind are the road that goes from Grand Junction to Durango in CO and "Going To The Sun Road" in Glacier National Park.

  4. No it is not, i've traveled to places where people living in New york all there lives couldn't drive if there lives depended on it, im talking about the busy streets of Manila, jungles of cambodia, vietnam, moscow, hong kong, shanghai, you get the point, just type in Manila traffic, or vietnam traffic, its hard to drive there.

  5. Yeah, I'd like to think it's true. I live in New York and I've been all over the U.S. From the places, I've seen, New York has the worst traffic. I think that's why we have road rage. lol Be careful when driving in New York.

  6. if you can drive in indonesia, india ect. then you can dirve anywhere

  7. NO. try driving in india!

  8. Your Uncle is wrong! Driving in NYC does not help you drive through Thompson Pass Alaska in the dead of winter!

  9. Its actually easier to drive in New York than anywhere else. In New York, you drive 50 feet, then stop. Then drive 50 feet, then stop. The real challenge with driving in New York, is trying to park. If you can park in New York, you can park anywhere.

  10. Driving in NYC is harder than anywhere else in the US.

But there are many foreign countries where it's much harder than NYC.  Try driving in Tokyo, for example.  10 times worse than NY.
