You wont have a life except for studying medicine, until you get out of you residency/internship? thats means social life to?

  1. Of course you can have a life while studying medicine!! That's why you have the interview prior to your selection into medical school, to see what type of person you are, to see if you can maintain a balanced lifestyle and whether you can handle stress or not. A lot of people, once they get into med school, just try to pass their papers. But yes, MBCHB is a very intense, challenging programme, it usually takes 6 years to complete, with about 3 years theory and another 3-4 years clinical practice if you want to be a GP only. If you want to specialise such as in emergency medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology, onoclogy, psychiatry, and so on, it's another 2-4 years of training. So compared with other degrees, you do really need to be prepared to go the extra mile.


  2. Concur with SAMI, medical school is rigorous, but if you don't take some time to socialize and decompress, you'll burn out.

  3. Not true. More time must be spent for study but you need not stay in a cocoon
