Is it true that if you die in your dreams, you die in real life?

ever notice how your always the survivor in your dreams?

Interesting question. I have fallen and jumped from high points in my dreams and it felt so real. like i could feel my stomach "tickle" But i always wake up before i hit the bottom. so i really dont know. i doubt it since its only a dream but i dont know. :)

...I'm not sure if that's true.  I was shot in my dreams and I could literally feel myself dying and the blood spilling over my face and into my ears.  lol sorry if that was too graphic.  Surprisingly...I could still hear.  I'm not sure if that counts...

Everyone dies - that's part of reality. And you're not always the survivor in your dreams; however, dying in your dreams will not cause you to instantaneously die in reality.

no i don't think. but you made a point. I've never died in my dreams. but my brother said that in his dream he had his friend kill him many times, i think about 60 times.  but yeah I don't think so

Yes, it is sometimes true. When you're dreaming, your adrenaline is pumping, your heart is racing and you can't control any of it. Depending on how intense your dream is, it can certainly cause death. Your heart will stop, almost like a heart attack. Some people even stop breathing. But cases like these are rare. So I wouldn't be alarmed if I were you. But if you're worried about the dreams you've been having, try meditating before you go to bed. Or you can use aromatherapy candles, or pillow mist. They help calm your mind and body before bed.

Not necessarily if you have a dream that you die and you wake up the next morning obviously your alive. But when you dream that you die it seems real because you are asleep and there is no source of reality. So you are in a figment of your imangination.

i've heard its true and the scientific explantation is that your brain thinks the dream is true and when you die in your dreams your brain thinks your dead so slowly it starts shutting down your vital oragns and eventually you die. but dont worry its very rare for that to happen

lol TABBI is right. but whenever i have dreams of ppl dyin, i may get chased or a lil beat up, but i can never seem to freakin die or come close to dyin. so i guess its just not my time yet. lol

Simple urban legend, you controll your dreams believe it or not. Why would you want to die? Your dream will end, you can not play out a fantasy of death in your dream because you have neither died before or know what happens after death.

The subconsious of your mind that allows fantsy and dreams would not drift into a dream about your own personal death.

If you do not survive your dream you will still survive your sleep. I don't think anyone has ever died of a bad dream despite what the movies tell us.

Yeah, it happened once.  A boat fell on me... from the sky, of all things.  Everything went black, and in my dream I thought "man, I'm dead!"  Then I woke up and sold my boat.

or like do you ever dream that you're falling and then wake up like jolting in your bed? i always wake up before i hit the floor and die, so like your theory seems true
