I read on a website that you do-

Guests who go to Disneyland on their birthday are treated like VIPs.

When first entering the park, guests will be on Main Street. Go to City Hall located on Main Street and tell a cast member [employee] that it is your birthday. They will give you a special sticker badge to wear on your clothing. The badge will say, "Happy Birthday, Disneyland," with a picture of Mickey on it. They will also write your name on the badge.

During the day when cast members see you they will say Happy Birthday to you. You may also experience all sorts of special treats such as being sung happy birthday by unexpected CMs or given special sweet treats or special birthday coins. You might even be escorted to the front of a ride line.

Once while strolling along the shops in New Orleans Square the traveling jazz band started playing the birthday song for my friend who was wearing a badge and a shopkeeper came out with a free cookie for him.

Is it true?

  1. I don't think so. Probably just because anyone can say it's their b-day and get all that special treatment. but im not sure though

  2. yes you do

  3. I know that at Disney World they kind of do. (an usually WDW and DL do the same things when it comes to customer service.) and i have gone to the park with someone who had a birthday. first, you get the button at guest services (if you are younger, you might get a call from a Disney character to wish you happy birthday) and at a counter service restaurant my friend got a free dessert. got a free cookie at the bakery, was sung happy birthday by store full of people when a cast member saw his badge and proceeded to get everyone to sing to him. was wished happy birthday by every cast member and even some random guests.

  4. If that's what you consider VIP treatment, then yes.

  5. Hey!

Well if it says it there i guess it muct be true!

That does sound like something disney would do!

Why not phone the park up and ask them? lol

That would be so cool if they did do that so lets hope its true!

    Hope i helped you!

  6. Yes it is true.  You go to City Hall, and ask for the birthday pin.  (There are other pins too, anniversary, just married, and first visit.)

Throughout the day they say Happy Birthday to you, and sometimes even give you special things or desserts.  When I ate at the Blue Bayou, they gave me a special dessert.  Same with Rainforest Cafe (in downtown Disney.)

I loved getting this treatment so I'm sure you probably would too. : D

And to the person above me, you do not have to prove it's your birthday.  It doesn't even have to be your birthday.  It was actually celebrating a late birthday, so it was not in the same month as my real birthday.

Next time I go I'm going find out what OC1999 is talking about in the tortilla factory. : D

  7. You do get some special treatment.  The first thing you need to do is stop at City Hall and request a Birthday Button(these are much better than the stickers they used to have).

The cast members will say Happy Birthday to you in passing.  You may also get Happy Birthday(or versions of) sung to you on certain rides.  I have also seen Cast Members get an entire section of people waiting for the Parade/Fireworks/Fantasmic to get them to sing Happy Birthday to someone.

During the day you should not expect anything, but if something happens think of it as a little surprise.  I have never heard of or ever seen any special "coins" or being escorted to the front of the line because they were a birthday person.   But on occasion I have heard and seen where cast members would give little items.  Or you may get a little more preference, for example when the Jazz band plays they sometimes give out beads.  If they see a birthday person they may decide to give them a set of beads.

One place you do want to visit and will get something is the Tortilla Factory in California Adventure.  I won't tell you exactly what you get but it is something unique.

  8. Yes! This is very true! But you have to be able to prove that it is indeed your birthday. So take along your Driver's License or Passport. They DO check!

  9. yes it is

they given special perks to honeymooners & anniversary couples too

    :o)

  10. My friend went on her birthday with her family and she says its true, now she wants to go every year lol!
