  1. if you are a small child then maybe but if you loose 1 pint of blood you normally just pass out i think its 2 pints or 1 and 1 half

  2. Depending on where the hole that's causing the leak is, yes.  If it's in your head, for example - but then, you have more problems at that point than blood loss, I suppose.

Most people have 6 quarts of blood in their body (which is equal to 12 pints).  To lose more than 3 or 4 at any moment would put you at definite risk for shock and death.  To lose more than 6 would be far worse.  To lose more than 8 leaves you pretty much doomed without miraculous care and a quick-thinking physician or paramedic.

  3. Depends on how fast u loose ur blood. If ur blood cells re-generate faster than rate of blood loss, then ur right. =)

  4. If you lose a pint of blood very quickly, like from a large wound, you could have a serious blood pressure issue which could cause stress on your heart. But when you donate blood, you give a pint, so done that way, or from a slow wound, then you wouldn't die.

  5. It depends on who you are.  If you have a precarious cardiac status, losing that much blood might reduce your ability to perfuse your coronary arteries and cause a heart attack.  A similar thing could happen in your head and cause a stroke.

For most people, though, a pint of blood doesn't make much difference.  You replace the volume quickly by drinking more fluids, and you replace the red blood cells over the next few weeks.

  6. Not likely.  It is normal for a person donating blood to give a pint.  One pint out of 10-12 pints is not a lot.

  7. no, that's roughly what they take when you donate blood. You might need a drink , but you'd be fine.
