  1. Is it true in the US that you can buy drugs and guns in elementary and middle schools? Is it also true that American woman are promiscuous and they act just like prostitutes? I have heard those lines in Mexico before.... Any truth in them?

I have seen 12 year olds drinking beer at a restaurant in their school uniforms and some small stores will sell booze and cigs to any teen with cash.

It's changing though. Many places will ask for ID from young people and the cops have started to crack down on stores that vend booze and cigs to minors.

Smoking is now banned indoors in public places like stores, malls, and eateries in Mexico City.

  2. I don't know about just taller than the counter but where I live it would be very easy to buy if you looked at least like a teenager.

  3. You can't... you need to be at least 18 years old.

Even adults can't buy alcohol after certain hours in some states.

  4. oh you shouldn't be so rude about this question... i have friends from mexico that have been drinking since they were like 13 or 14 and now they're 18... so it just depends on where you live...

  5. yes

  6. that's so stupid, no!!! i live in mexico and you can only buy them if you are (or you look) older than 18, and if they see you don't look old enough they ask for your ID but, that sounds crazy, is that the point of view of mexico from the world?

  7. I live in Mexico and the legal age to buy either is 18 and stictly enforced where I live.  Some people like to make insulting generalities about a culture they really know nothing about and that's where that kind of comment comes from.
