  1. If you hit the lowest ball FIRST as required, then at some point during play the 9 ball is sunk, you win.

This is actually a little different than what you stated. It doesn't have to be the lowest ball you hit with the cue, other balls could come into play in between. 9 ball is a quick and sloppy game, I love it.

  2. yes

  3. Yes   if   it   is  a    legal   hit   you   can   make   the   9    during   anytime   in    the   game

  4. As long as you make a good hit on the lowest numbered ball on the table and then the nine goes in on the same shot then you're a winner. Provided you don't scratch. In which case the nine ball would be spotted and the game continues. I understand what Jacoby cues is saying about the 8 on the break. Only problem is in some leagues they use coin-op tables. In which case you have to put in more money to get the 8 ball out of the table. I agree that an 8 on the break shouldn't necessarily be a win. You can't really call it a loss either. Why should you be punished with a loss for sinking the 8 on the break? That's the only reason that we call it a win in my league.

  5. This would be a win....in some places they call this "Texas Express Rules"...designed for TV to get in more matches in a shorter time....but as anywhere, you set the rules of the match or tournament before you start....some play..."call the 9"....some play "first to 5 by 2....to avoid you snapping or a quick combo to win a hill to hill match".....my favorite ...first to five with the hill game being 9 ball last ball in!.....but the answer, is mostly "yes" to most 9 ball tournaments...you win!! Rack Them!!

  6. yes.   all that is required is that you hit the lowest numbered ball on the table first...if it hits the 9-ball into a pocket, the game is over.

  7. Both answers above me are right.  You can play a 9 ball combination at any point of the game as long as you contact the lowest object ball with the cue ball first.  That is why it makes sense that a 9 ball break is a win, because the 1 ball is at the head, and you must contact that first on the break.  Now in 8 ball, if you sink the 8 ball early its a loss... Why would it be a win on the break?  Good luck and keep rackn em up!

  8. Yes...

  9. Yes.

  10. yes you are right
