Is it true that in order to cross the border our young children need photo id now??

We are in the Toronto area and we are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach, someone just told us that we might not be able to because we don't have photo id for our kids. our kids are 5 and 2 do they really need photo id now?

    i know its horrible, but thank god the children dont need it!

No, children do NOT need photo I.D.!  Your photo I.D. must be a gov't issued photo I.D. like a drivers license, and kids can't get those.  Just bring their birth certificates.  Read the site below CAREFULLY.  It says persons over age 19 must present a passport OR other proof of citizenship, like a birth certificate AND a gov't issued photo I.D.  If you are FLYING into the U.S.. ALL of you must have passports.
