Is it true that in the Olympic Soccer event, the winner will earn like 14 gold medals...?

A medal for each player including the subs?

I thought only the captain will received the award.

    The countries association get to keep the trophy and the players each get a medal depending on position, but the medal only counts as one more to that countries medal tally

  3. Each player on the team gets a medal.  Example on the Women's Team Finals in Gymnastics, although only 4 girls competed for the team (2 injuries) USA all 6 got a silver medal.
