  1. depends on your insurance.  they asked me if i owned a dog and what type and if i lived in a neighborhood.  i do not think it lowers your property value though.  you may have to pay more or yes, they may refuse to cover you.

  2. They will refuse insurance on certain types of dogs . . . or just exclude the dog . . . or charge a bigger premium.  I've never heard of lower property value due to a dog  . . .

  3. It doesn't lower your property value.

But I haven't seen ANY insurance companies willing to give coverage for a rottweiler.

If you lie and say you don't have one, that's grounds to void the claim - and the policy.  If you tell the truth, they'll deny your application.

Foremost Insurance will write a homeowners on a person with a Rottie, if there's no bite history - but they will make you sign a dog liability exclusion.  In other words, they won't cover dog bites.  They are the only company I know of that will do it.

There could be more in YOUR area, you'll have to talk to a local agent - local to YOU.

  4. Yes certain insurance companies will not carry you if you have certain breeds of dogs or you will have a much higher premium!! Because those breeds of dogs are known as biters!! Really stupid but yeah!! i would say it does not lower your property value..

  5. BECAUSE THEY BITE when you interrupt them crapping on your lawn
