Is it true that it gets more windy when the tide is coming in?

Yes, it is true.  This happens as the tides come in.   Winds will follow the motion of the tide and temperature contrasts between the waves and surrounding air.

YES. BECAUSE WHEN THE WATER MOVES CLOSER TO THE SHORE, IT RAISES THE AIR PRESSURE, WHICH ENABLES THE TRADE TO BE PICKED UP AND CARRY MORE FORCE. OR VELOCITY TO THE SHORE, WHERE THE AIR PRESSURE DROPS.

do not know about wind but people used to say that it was more likely to rain when the tide comes in
