I know alot of people buy pills without a perscription across the border and sneak them back, but is it really allowed to have two bottles on your person when coming back? It would make sense because theres really not enough for distribution, but still, theres no doctor written perscription there...

  1. If I were you, I wouldn't do it.  Click on the link I have provided and read where it says "Avoid Drug Offenses".

After you read the part concerning prescription drugs, then ask yourself do you want to take the chance of going to jail in Mexico.

Here is one other link (this is what the official government website says concerning drugs)--

If you decide to take the chance and get caught and arrested, here is a link from an official government website--

One other option is to contact the Mexican Consulate and see what they say.

All I can say is this--Proceed with caution.

  2. When you enter the United States, you must have a perscription for all drugs that require a perscription, period.

You are in the US when you go through customs and are subject to US law. When you try to sneak something into the US illegally, you can be arrested and prosecuted. Sorry, but this is the chance you take.

  3. Prescription drugs, in general, are NOT what the border is trying to control.  It is prescription drugs which contain controlled substances.

I cannot say this any stronger!  DO NOT BUY DRUGS CONTAINING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION FROM A MEXICAN DOCTOR.  keep this prescription with you at all times.

At the border, its the same thing.  US Customs is interested in stopping the entry of excessive controlled drugs.  Typically, they will let you cross with a 2 months supply of any drug, and absolutely will if you if you have an American or Canadian doctor written prescription with you.
