  1. That doesn't make sense. How much corn is a year's worth?


  2. no it isnt a tank is ussually 14 gallons it takes 50 lbs of corn to produe 100% pure ethanol. although at todays sugar prices u might as well buy regular fuel. but in one acre of corn you can get about 200 lbs of corn and farmers ussually plant way more than one acre it would take about four months for the average joe to make ethanol aand about 3 months for the corn to get big enough

AJ is way off,the average yield(low side) is 150 bushel per acre times 56 lbs per bushel for a total of 8400 lbs of corn per acre.Anyway 1 bushel of corn makes 2.5 gallons of ethanol.So a 25 gallon tank would take 10 bushel and that would be about right,since 10 bushel of corn would make around 100 lbs of cereal or 10 pounds of pancake mix.

  4. Not quite, but it is less efficient than gasoline.  I'd rather that they use corn for ethanol than for high-fructose corn syrup anyway.
