Is it true that its illegal to wash your car in Switzerland?

Hi there,

To answer your question: No, it is no illegal to wash our cars. As a matter of fact, I find that it is an obsession of my countrymen to wash their cars every other Saturday (we can't wash on Sunday, because of our funny anti-Noise Pollution laws)

Hey!

I'm from Switzerland! It's ok to wash your car by yourself, as long as you don't use soap or other chemicals which could soil the environment....so if you just use water, that's totally fine!

It may not be illegal, but a public bylaw, to conserve water. I know in the municipality I live in, here in Canada, we're not "supposed" to wash our cars for more than 20 minutes and were only allowed to water grass one day per week, assigned by house number.
