  1. It may depend on your state, but it is pooled from Driver's Liscence records, voting records, and tax returns for those states that have state and city tax.

  2. They can be chosen in different ways. From what I've heard, in Kansas, they are chosen by drivers liscence, by voting records and by other means. They try to get all different types of people. They cannot just select people who vote or people who drive.

  3. yes..this is true in Ohio at least.  I looked into this issue when I was registering people to vote as so many were afraid to register for that very reason..I would assume many other states also do this.

  4. it varies by state. in florida, jury duty lists are based on driver's licenses. i would check with your local clerk of courts to confirm what the rules are in your state. if it is tied to voter's registrations, don't let jury duty be a deterrence to vote. jury duty is no where near as bad as everyone seems to make it out to be.

  5. It depends on where you live and what system your court uses. Here in Nevada they use voters' lists, drivers' lists and even those who got pet licenses.

  6. depends on where you live,

  7. They are chosen by computer at random, mainly if u vote.

  8. Yes it is true. (In Michigan) I got called up last Feb 2007.

  9. It depends on the state you live in what method is used.  Legally, in most jurisdictions, they even have the power to walk out of a court building and grab passersby on the street, and if they qualify, empanel them immediately.  Many places use voting lists, as that at least is almost sure to be composed of citizens and those old enough.
