  1. When it comes to rent and living costs Frankfurt is coming close to Munich. That's because being Europe's financial capital it's getting attractive only for highly paid people working in banks or the stock markets more or less. Folks with other profession are moving out of the city by the numbers..


  2. It is. Especially the rent and real estate. Finding an appartment in Munich is a challange itself. The market is more or less empty. If you meet 10 people 5 of them would want to move to a new place if affordable. The center doesn't allow skyscrapers, all building have only 6 floors.

    Public transport is about the same. Food, too. Restaurants and bars are more expensive. But the typical Bavarian restaurants can be very affortable on the other hand.

    I know people who lost their job in Munich and after a few months moved to Berlin. Just to cut costs.
