Is it true that male baldness depends on the mother's side of the family?

  1. Yes I have many bothers and sister that can pove it. My ex wife has really thick hair and they alll still have thick hair.


  2. Yes, a child gets their hairline from their mother's father.  

  3. No, it is not true.  It was thought to be true until DNA tests could be used. I went to a dermatologist as I had this problem, went through the DNA routine and male pattern baldness was passed through my father in this case.  I was confused as my mothers male relatives all had hair and my fathers family did not.  I could not understand why I was losing hair unless it was an illness I did not know I had.

  5. Yes, all the brothers on my moms side are bald & my brother at 31 yrs is beginning to get thinning hair. My fathers side everybody has a great head of hair but unfortunatly for my brother he got my moms hair genes.
