Is it true that marginal and small farmers ( where ever applicable ) of the countires that hae signed the WTO?

are at a disadvantage. Are there any advantages at all because of WTO to them

  1. Yes, in fact there are a lot of disadvantages...

    Small farming is heavily propped up with governmental subsidies to make it economically viable in todays market, which allowing the farmers to price their goods competitively- making it possible for developed countries to sell farm products cheaper than developing countries.

    WTO is basically an agreement to level the playing field in trade, making some governmental  subsidies illegal, and hence small farmers have to compete against countries with lower labour fees. A farmer in a developing country would be happy to sell his crop for a 100 euros, but to an european one it would be a disaster.
