  1. Depends on the cheese, we don't like the smell of parmessan cheese.

  2. It's not exactly the smell but the cheese itself. I can't speak for all other asian countries but I know that china, korea, and japan don't include cheese as a part of their general diet. They don't cook with it or make snacks out of it, however you can find it at the grocery store (if you go to one that you know will have some foreign foods for sale) but you won't find very many brands of types of it.

Baking isn't something that is all that common in the same sense that it is in countries like France or America and in all the dishes I know from China specifically that are "baked" (which btw, is not something chinese did in the past) don't include any kind of cheese in them, frying is usually the norm for most all dishes and well there are no dishes I know of in China that are fried that have cheese. You can go to foreign restaurants (usually american ones) and find one or two dishes with cheese in it, but like I said it's just not a part of their usual diet.

  3. The qualifier "most Asians" is quite correct as many Asians somehow seemed to be lactose-intolerant, so naturally an Asian so affected wouldn't be very keen on dairy products that'll only keep him entrenched all day in the toilet. But the newer generations of Asians seem to be less afflicted (maybe it's all that American pizza & hamburgers). I hardly think it's the smell or flavor as many Asian foodstuffs are far more overpowering. The lack of refrigeration in the old days (still a problem in very remote areas) also naturally limited the spread of dairy products.

Japan is an exception to most Asian countries as the Japanese are avid consumers of dairy products & Western cuisines are extremely popular. One also sees a wide range of cheeses available in more westernised countries like Singapore, and growing affluence in many countries like China means more moolah to indulge in luxury goods eg. imported specialty cheeses.

  4. totaly un-true... its only the boys or girls ... I am an asian but born in england.

i can speek any of the language its too hard

  5. most asians don't the smell of cheese because, we never really put cheese in our food. think about it, put cheese in you Sweet & Sour Chicken that wouldn't taste good. plus most asian eat aunentic chinese food.

i mean auentic chinese food does not consists cheese, cream cheese or nething close to that. so most asian dont like the smell of cheese and or eat cheese out of a packet.. but they will try to acpect a cheese burger!

    I m chinese too ~~ ^^

  6. My moms best friend hates cheese...and heres why...traditionally cheese isnt available widely in china, and Cows milk products that arent processed (like yogurt) can be tough on a stomach that isnt used to it...Its not the smell as far as I know, its they way it makes a first generation person feel

  7. True the oriental nations haven't really taken to cheese yet but gradually they are buying and importing more and more of it. It is not part of their traditional culture.

Also in some parts of the far east  most people are intolerant to the lactose sugar contained in milk and all its products. They don't have the digestive enzyme that breaks down.

  8. Indians are Asians and we LOVE paneer!!  Paneer is an Indian cheese, I personally cant get enough of the stuff!

  9. I believe that's true to some extent, especially for Asians in Asia... especially for Asians closer to the equator where cheese in not part of their diet.  To them, cheese smells like rotting milk or stinky feet.  Who likes that?

Asians that have grown up eating cheese or live in the "west" are more accepting fo cheese.

  10. Not all of them.

I don't know about others but i don't like my food smelling cheesy while my father does.

  11. What? thats funny
