Is it true that most women sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door?

I heard this interesting tidbit some years ago. Where do you sleep? Or, if single, what side would you feel you'd sleep on if you had to choose?

My bed only fits one person...and my bed can only be placed on the side close to the door because I have a lot of other furniture in my room. So I have no choice.

Hmm, thats weird, im single and i sleep on the right which is nearest to the door lool.

weird... I actually sleep on the right side of the bed which is closet to the main bedroom door.

That's odd, because I find that most women I have dated want the man to sleep closest to the door. It's a protection thing.  

Of course, a few adventurous women I know have bucked the trend.

im not single, i have a bed buddy every night :) but, the way our bed is facing, the foot of the bed is facing towards the door. well, our bathroom door. he sleeps on the side that is closest to the other door.

I'm single but if I had to choose it would be the left side of the bed because I sleep on my left side and I want to not feel closed in by facing someone or his back.

I think I read somewhere that it is good feng shui to be able to see the door so maybe that has something to do with it.
