Is it true that mouthwash will eventually damage your teeth & gum?

  1. Mouthwash is good, but don't use it too frequent. Maybe 2-3X daily will be fine. Too frequent usage of mouthwash will kill oral flora (good bacteria in mouth that are responsible in keeping your mouth healthy) and irritate your oral mucosa (skin lining the mouth). Can also lead to fluorosis (over dose of fluoride). Moderate usage of mouthwash is good for oral health. It contains substances which are bacteriostatic (stops advancement of bad bacteria) and bacteriocidal (kills bad bacteria). It also contains fluoride (makes the tooth more resistant).


  2. Mouthwash has been around a long, long time....and seems to have had no adverse effects.....

    I doubt you would ever have a problem.......
