Is it true that my carrier will charge me?

for downloading ringtones from places like phonezoo.com?

i downloaded about 50 things from them today and someone told me that alltel will charge me, is this true?

You will definitely be charged for the data usage if you are not on an unlimited data plan.  You won't be charged separately for the ringtones from PhoneZoo according to their website.

However some download sites DO charge you for downloading content, and the charges will show up as "premium" charges on your mobile bill.  These can be very sneaky and many people don't know that they are being charged. The way that you can tell if you are going to be charged premium charges is that they have to send you a confirmation text message that you have to reply to with a special code before they charge you.

well you are charged for the time that you are on the internet to retrieve them, i just got stuff today, but i have a sidekick plan that includes internet

The charge is 1 text message per ringtone since that is how they are delivered. If you have a text package, it will go against your package, if you do not, you will pay between $.10-.25/per depending on your plan. Hope this helps!
