  1. It's true...

....but who says you can't drink on good Friday?! ; )

stock up the day before (don't leave untill the last minute as the queues are terrible). Good Friday can be great fun even without the pubs and clubs.

also, listen out for any clubs that might be opening their doors at midnight. it isn't common but sometimes 1 or 2 clubs will open the second Saturday technically starts. They know we cant go a whole night without a drink in a pub/club

  2. if ur booked into a hotel u will get drink in cork, I always do (lol)

  3. I think you should be able to get alcohol in a hotel only if you are a resident.  You may also be able to get drink on a train or ferry.

Either that or get someone to stock up for you or bring your own, that might be cheaper.

  4. Yep, and Christmas Day.  The pubs aren't allowed to be open.  However, many people get around that by stocking up at the off-license beforehand (cos they're closed on those days too), and having friends round at home.

  5. Awweee noooo. that's a kick in the face.

your bang on, no alcohol served on good Friday. pubs call last order early the day before to clear everyone out of the pub early. and everyone ends up going to the pub on the Saturday, it does be packed coz God Forbid we go one day without alcohol.

you should see the queues at the off license the day before!!!!!

You'd be alright if it's just the Friday, you can always buy something at the Duty Free on the way over. Saturday and Sunday the pubs are open and it's business as usual.

I suggest looking for somewhere to enjoy a good meal on Friday night, not sure if you'll be able to get wine with your meal though. But it would be good for you to see Cork while sober.
