  1. Do you own a car?

Do you see cars around you?

    How many?

Is there a secret war for Oil in Congo?

Did the American Govt. attack the middle East to defunctionalize the oil plants?

Answer this questions and you will get a general pictoral graph of the oil consumption.

  2. As production hits its peak so will consumption.  Most experts feel we're rapidly approaching having used half of all oil reserves globally.

Paul Roberts wrote an outstanding book called "The End of Oil" that does a great job of discussing just what this will mean on an economic, geopolitical and social level.

Oddly, consumption trends that are developing right now (though very slowly) might devalue oil before we hit the top of the consumption curve.

  3. Uh, yeah. All that means is that it's going to run out. Did you think the oil supply was infinite?

  4. If you mean oil production, then yes, it's going to peak.  There's a lot of uncertainty in the predictions about when this will happen, but eventually we'll start running out of oil that's feasible to get out of the earth.

Since oil production is going to peak, oil consumption will also have to peak.

  5. yes
