Is it true that once u have an episiotomy u will have to have one again in the next labour?

  1. No that's no true.  The more children you have the more it stretches down there.  I had to have an episiotomy with my 1st two kids and I didn't tear or need on at all with the 3rd.  It's elasticity so the more it stretches the least tearing you'll have.  


  2. I didn't have one with either birth.  The first one I had a small tear (only 3 stitches), and I was told a small tear is better than an episiotomy but an episiotomy is better than a large tear.

    The second one, I didn't tear at all.

    but i'd rather have another one than tear!!! omigosh....

    i tore during s*x on my episiotomy scar and i tell ya, that HURT!

    so hopefully this time they will cut again so i don't tear it. but talk to you doc about it.

  4. No.  I had one with my 1st baby, a 4th degree one with my 2nd, I tore naturally with my 3rd, and one was not necessary with my 4th.
