Is it true that people can buy tickets to fly on UPS flights??

They stopped this practise several years ago.  

But you can still get a flight as a courier.  Sometimes companies need something delivered within hours, so they dont' want to wait for customs.  Instead they wil pay your ticket to a destination and give you the package to deliver.  Yes the goods are legal, by having a person carry them through you get through customs without any delay.

If you work for UPS or FedEx you can get a ticket for a Jump Seat. There are usually only 1-2 seats per plane. This allows employees to fly where they want\need to go. The average person can't buy this seats.
