I think it really depends on the person.  Some Australians either like OR don't like people from New Zealand.

Constant bickering and teasing.  Until some outsider decides to go too far, when the relationship is rock solid.  It works from pubs to international conflicts.  They are family.

There is sometimes a friendly rivalry and sometimes a serious rivalry (especially when it comes to football)..

I'm an Aussie and have some really good New Zealand friends, even a NZ aunty too by marriage and one of my best best mates is with a great NZ guy.... there are ridicules from both sides and debates over who says the word ''pen'' right.. haha... But nothing to be taken to seriously, lots of NZ live in Australia, so we basically live together pretty peacefully...

And don't forget it works both ways, I'm sure there are Aussies who take the whole thing too seriously and New Zealanders that take it way too far aswell...

I remember when I lived in the UK, meeting a NZér would be really great for that bit of familiarity.. so yeah

At the end of the day, you have to wonder, if people have the time to waste being bitter about another country for trivial reasons, they don't have much else going on really.... all down to the individual, geez, there's some Aussie's I don't necessarily like, so I don't care whether you're from Spain, NZ, Australia or Mars! I'll always appreciate a good person who knows how to have a good laugh! : )

I like all the Kiwis I know; in fact, one expat Kiwi living in Sydney happens to be one of the people I respect most of everyone I know.

No, they keep kicking our a#ses in the Footy, thats why we say they have amorous relationships with sheep, lol, jk. The Maories with the tattooed faces are the scariest looking people I have ever seen. One of my mates is a Maori, and it is funny when he says "Lets get P#ssed".

No, in general that's not true.

There is sporting rivalry between Australia and New Zealand but that's about as far as it goes.

We love to beat each other in cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union and any other sport for that matter, but it's all friendly.
