  1. this metal scanner thingy you are talking about is not cheap that even if  it is made of carbon but still shaped like a knife would still show in the screen and you will be subjected to extra security screening if they find it in your possession.

Even water guns and plastic knives are supposed to be in your checked in luggage (NOT ON CARRY-ONS).

By the way, under what mission is carbon fiber knife beneficial to? It's nice to be free, forget that knife, be it carbon or hydrogen (Just goofin)

  2. Depending on the design of the knife, it is THEORETICALLY  possible to get one past a metal detector.  The x-ray will tag it for sure in a carry-on.

However, if for some reason you get selected for a pat-down and have one on your body, you will very shortly find yourself in a real metal cage for quite a while.

  3. Do you mind if I ask why you want to bring a knife on a plane?

  4. Carbon's not a metal, so it shouldn't set off the metal detector. I'm at a loss for how you'd make a knife out of carbon fiber, though. A ceramic or wooden blade would work just as well.
