Question:

Is it true that people with blue eyes are more sensative to the sun?

I have blue eyes and whenever it's bright outside I can barely keep my eyes open because the sun burns so bad. My sister, who has brown eyes, said that it was because blue eyes are more sensative to the sun. I don't think that eye color has anything to do with it, but I'm no expert. I was just wondering though. Anything would be helpful. Thanks.

  1. Psssst Brooke.

I agree with the other girl.

  2. Yes, blue eyes have less pigment with which to block the sun, so more light bounces around inside the eyes.  This is similar to a fair-skinned person being more prone to burns than those with darker skin.  Make sure you have a good pair of sunglasses for use outdoors.

  3. shes right people with lighter eyes are more likely to lose their eye sight then people with brown eyes and im not saying you'll go blind but your vision can get bad or worse sooner than that of people with browm eyes
