  1. Perfumes are made of the "aromatic" molecules which are close to the structure of benzene molecules with the typical double bounds and ring structure

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aromatic

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzene

A lot of these molecules are carcinoge (look at the health effect of benzene for example in the link).

There are so many different aomatic molecules that it is impossible to test them all on health effects.

Parfumes might be pollutants but the main effect would be directly on your health. Expensive parfumes (luxury) are especially the worst since they are a complicated combination of these aromatic substances and they are not tested regarding their toxicity !!!!!

  2. really, everything we do now can be bad for the environment.

Perfumes are mostly aromatics from hydrocarbons (oil). but really, if you're not wasteful, the benefits FAR outweigh the risks (especially for deodorants)

  3. Yes... never ever ever use them again you smelly person. ENVIORMENT KILLER, ENVIORMENT KILLER...... be glad that the computer is holding me back.... you make me so angry....

  4. "AromaTherapy" may have an environmental cost much lower than many conventional treatments.

  5. No, it is just another Al Gore type scare tactic.

  6. YES IT IS!!!  There can be up to 4000 different chemicals in perfume...ranging from side effects of asthma, rashes, cancer, sensitivities in newborns (why do you think they recommend fragrance free items for newborns?  Their bodies are not able to handle all the toxins/chemicals in the perfume)- Headaches, etc.  Formaldehyde, and thousands of other chemicals reside.

It is a crock that you can not live a natural healthy lifestyle with minimal effects on this earth.  IT is so mainstream today you can walk down to your nearest Whole foods store and buy a multitude of products that are better for you, your family and the environment.

The cosmetic industry is NOT regulated...in make up there is lead (in your lipstick), and many carcinogens that you put on your face every morning...as well on your head and body (lotion)- you can replace all of these items by making a quick trip to a whole foods store...WE have been trying to live a non toxic life for many years and quite frankly it's a lot easier and an investment in your long term health...

You should check out "green" schools on the web and see what perfumes, and smells due to kids cognition and grade scores...EDUCATE yourself..because our regulatory system her is far worse than many other countries!

  7. all perfumes are not harmful to environmennt

but certain perfumes are added with chlorofluorocarbons to get pressure for perfume, which[chfc] can cause damage to ozone layer in the sky...

  8. No perfume isn't harful. Its actually a good  freshner
