  1. Police cars have a heavier-duty suspension than standard automobiles... but there isn't anything exotic about it....

If you order the same model as a police car, you can get the same thing....

It's known as the "police package" or "trailer towing package"

  2. Police cars do have bigger wheels, stiffer suspension, better brakes, larger alternators and more engine oil capacity. None of those mods have anything to do with driving over speed bumps.

The small 1 foot wide speed bumps scare people into slowing down, unless your car is lowered there is no reason to slow down other then for safety of the people in the area which is why speed bumps exist. The suspension on any normal car will just absorb the bump at speed like any other bump you drive over.

That's why I say its a speed bump not a slow bump.

  3. The opposite is true... many speed bumps are designed to allow emergency equipment to pass over them in a way that doesn't impair their driving as much.

Speed bumps are dumb anyway... there are much better ways to control speeding such as traffic islands, parking control, stripe, community self-enforcement, etc.

  4. Not true. They do have modified suspensions for heavy duty use - like cutting through medians - but nothing special for speed bumps. They do a nice job of training officers on high speed driving which may help them navigate irregular surfaces.

  5. Yes they do..........

  6. Suspension is a heavier variety to help carry all the gear without compromising handling,  but they still bounce  when going over bumps.

  7. I am not sure about your country .But in India yes they modify the car and also bikes ,  they have special priviliges and the cars and bikes are powerful .

  8. not true. they have beefed up suspension other than that it is a standard car.
