Is it true that putting Vaseline on lashes makes them grow?

I've heard that coating your lashes in Vaseline before going to sleep will make them grow longer and thicker. Is this true? Thanks.

I suppose that coating your lashes with any thick, greasy substance could, in theory, make them look longer and thick. But it will NOT physically increase the diameter or length of the eyelash itself. sorry to tell you the Vaseline is not a great solution to lack luster lashes. there is no ingredient in vaseline that will make them grow longer or increase thickness - yes it will improve in the strength of your lashes( due to the conditioning)  but will not physically change - especially not overnight !!! -try Vitamin E oil - instead it will not have a gloppy application and will not clog the hair follicle. This is not proven by any dermatologist or hair specialist. This I call a myth and I believe it is busted !!!

Not necessarily true that they will make them grow. All hair will grow to a length and stop growing, you don't see anyone with eyelashes to their chin, do you? Some people are born with long lashes and some have short. Although, Vaseline will help their health. It will strengthen the lashes so they last longer. Then they can grow to their natural length and less will fall out so they will be thicker. Also, vitamin E will help their health (:

i don't know about making them grow longer but it moisturizes them so they are healthier

This is a great question!!  I have never heard of this before, but I've heard of people using different types of oils on their lashes to make them strong, supple and grow faster. I guess I will have to try good old Vaseline on my eyelashes, too, to see if this works.  Tyra Banks swears by this stuff that it helps keep her skin beautiful!

something that will definitely will make your eyelashes grow is lanolin. Get the solid form, its like Vaseline, just a little stickier and thicker, but same concept. You coat your eyelashes every night and they grow longer and stronger. It worked for me, i still use it because I curl my eyelashes everyday.

im not sure i heard that too

but im currently using castor oil on mine-

its been 5 days

i applied them twice

and im not seeing much

but i think its working :D lol
