  1. I have not heard this. I have heard though that sea baring oil rigs due to technology and regulations lose very little oil due to seepage but an unacceptable amount due to transportation via ship and pipeline.

Regardless I think extracting oil out of the sea is a bad idea. I believe among other things (i.e. global warming) oil works as a natural lubricant between the plates of the earth. Remove that lubricant you get an increased amount of earthquakes and tidal waves which have been responsible for 100,000's of deaths.

  2. Yes but it has done it for millions of years. If man takes it out there will not be that problem...

  3. no,oil in the sea occurs naturally.

  4. whew!  way to go....while we're worrying about oil seeping from the ocean; oil rigs seeping oil at a lesser level than the U.S.S.Arizona in Hawaii....other coutries are drilling off our own shores getting all the oil they want at a decent rental rate....gotta say, we got our priorities straight!?!?!?.....yea,you're probibly right, we should drill for oil....when are you running for congress? Let me know. And soon!

  5. no---it's still man--the ocean leaks far more methane gas than oil so for argument sake that would be far more pervasive than oil
