Is it true that smart cars dont need to pay congestion charge?

i recently heard someone saying that 'smart' cars are free from congestion charge in london city? is that true? can anyone confirm it? or does anyone atleast know how to make sure this statement is true/false?

  1. I believe so,  but I would sooner pay the charge than being seen in one of them


  2. False - ALL vehicles entering the Congestion Zone must pay the Charge.

  3. They are smart enough not to give away  any of their secrets.

  4. If the car is low on emissions, then you are usually instantly exempt from all congestion charges. It is obviously busy areas such as London etc, and the fee can be paid online I believe.

    Smart cars should definately not be charged.
