  1. yes some times

  2. no

    and the word is venomous

alot of snakes are dull in color but are venomous

some are bright and are non venomous

  3. It depends on the species of snake.  For the most part, the really colorful snakes are non-venemous except for the coral snake of north america and a few others scattered around the world.  Milksnakes, kingsnakes, and ratsnakes are all fairly colorful and are not venemous.  Some pythons and boas are also very colorful.  So, to answer your question, No, not all colorful snakes are venemous.

  4. Not always.

Bright colors in any plant or animal is often a "danger" sign.

However, some species also use bright colors to attract mates.

Some species also use bright colors to pretend they are dangerous when they are not.

Coral snakes are brightly colored, and venomous.  (No snake is poisonous.  Poisonous means if you EAT the thing, it will poison you.  Venomous means if it BITES you, it will inject venom into you.)  Milk snakes are the same 3 colors as coral snakes, just in a different order, and they are harmless.  Rattlesnakes are venomous, but they are a dull grayish brown.  So you can never ben entirely sure.

Also, where you are has a lot to do with it- most tropical animals are more brightly colored, animals in temperate regions (like the US) tend to be more neutral colors.

  5. ....the King snake, for example is red, black, and yellow....very bright...but non-poisonous

.....the Coral snake is red, yellow and black...and is poisonous

....classifications of snakes that are 'pit-vipers' are poisonous

  6. I'd say here in the U.S, there's more color and brightness in our nonvenomous species than our venomous ones. You need to do some research on what venomous snakes are native to your area and learn to recognize them rather than believe "oh, it's colorful, it must be dangerous!". For example, here in my area of Florida, our four venomous snakes are as follows:

    Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake: http://www.snakesandfrogs.com/scra/snake...

Cottonmouth (water moccasin): (adult): http://ufwildlife.ifas.ufl.edu/images/co... (juvenile): http://www.southeasternoutdoors.com/wild...

Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnake: (the color on these is highly variable): http://64.17.184.245/images/111-AAA-Apri...

    and the Coral Snake: http://www.pestagon.com/bugimages/Easter...

Compare these to some of our colorful nonvenomous snakes:

    Scarlet kingsnake: http://michaelcravens.com/sitebuildercon...

    Scarlet snake: http://www.kentuckysnakes.org/snakes/sca...

    Red Rat Snake: http://www.wildadventures.net/rides_attr...

    Mud Snake: http://michaelcravens.com/sitebuildercon...

    Rainbow Snake: http://www.discoverlife.org/IM/I_JDW/000...

    Rough Green Snake: http://www.thies-times.com/serpentryan/2...

The list goes on and on. The only way to be sure it's venomous is to know what's venomous in your area and to know the giveaway signs of a venomous snake ("eyebrow" scale, heat pit, head shape, and the one NOT to rely on is elliptical pupils... in low light, the pupils dilate and don't look elliptical. With coral snakes, they always have a black nose, and red touches yellow {think traffic light... don't worry about nursery rhymes} and please note the rules change outside of North America).

  7. Usually, animals that are colorful are poisonous. They're supposed to warn other animals, or something....

    but not necessarily.
