Question:

Is it true that soft drinks taste more better in a glass bottle than in a standard aluminum can?

I've noticed that Coca-Cola seems to taste more better in a glass bottle than in a regular can. Does glass preserve more better than aluminum? I've also heard that aluminum cans can, overtime, seep into the soft drink and can be harmful and create an odd taste in your mouth when you drink it. I think this is true, but I'm not so sure. Opinions, anyone?

  1. glass is a cleaner container, alumnum imparts a metalic taste, particularly over time.

  2. It's just your mind tricking you, it looks better in a glass but it tastes the same other than the fact that the glass has ice and extra water in it. It's doesn't really change the soda. Like would you rather have a soda in a beer glass or a cocktail glass? My point. (by the way I DON'T drink)

  3. Absolutely, love a cold glass bottle of coke, my second favorite is the plastic bottle, then the can, but I hate the fountain stuff.

  4. I think they taste way better from a glass bottle. For those of us with sensitive tastebuds, the can gives off a bit of tinniness.

Even at home, pouring pop from a 2L bottle, I prefer to have it in a glass, rather than a plastic cup.

Nothing tasted better in the '70s (!!!) than on a hot summer day, going to the corner store for a glass bottle of Orange Crush! We'd drink it, then give the bottle back for deposit, then buy a few penny candies with it.

  5. My personal choice is out of a glass bottle.I think they made a huge mistake when they stopped bottling soda in glass bottles. I can tolerate the plastic ones, but only from a smoke-free store. The plastic  tends to absorbe the smells. I also think that the taste from a glass bottle is more refreshing and crisp and clean. And yes I can remember getting the orange crush from the local drugstore too.  There has also been articles written that the aluminum is possibly linked to increase cases of altheimers over a long period of time. But the choice is up to you what kind of bottle or can you get your coke in.  Just enjoy it!!   (the tinny taste is for real--yuccky)

  6. i always taste that fat metalic taste so i prefer it in a glass yep!
