  1. Yes, because...

The people from the horn of Africa are the population all the rest of the world is descended from, and because there's been a fairly substantial back migration of Caucasians from the Arabian peninsula starting about 20,000 years ago. They are something like 15% Caucasian in Somalia, 40% in Ethiopia, 50% in Eritrea.

The horn of Africa population (Somali, Ethiopian, Eritrean) are genetically closer to Mediterranean Caucasian populations than West African populations, they sometimes get called  'Afrasian' in text books.

  2. Europeans are caucasions but caucasions are not necessarily Europeans. Typically this term is used to refer to Eurasians & includes those from Iran (Persia).

Those from East Africa are more closely related to Europeans & Middle Easterners than to most other Africans.

  3. If there are Caucasian genes floating around in the Somali population they probably came from one of the many European races that have tried to conquer that troubled country.  The area has been conquered by Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Arabs, Italians, French, and English just to name a few.   Let us not forget the neighboring bedou tribes of north Africa, either.  It is guessed they were some of the first Norsemen to enter the Mediterranean in ancient times and might explain why they all have blue eyes.

  4. Indeed they are. Somalis are the noblest of mankind, the mixing pot of humanity, the chosen race!

  5. Except for their very dark skin, they sure look like it.  I had a friend from Eritrea, which looks like Somalis, who had features more like a white person than most Negroes.
