  1. Repair and maintenance cost on a 4 stroke is really hard to handle. Long live the smokers.

  2. what are you racing, motocross or supercross?

Motocross- you would want a four stoke dirtbike, grips a lot better in all terain, also has great pull through out the curve and band of the engine, yet it is hard to work on

Supercross- in supercross i would much rather go with a four stroke because that is my gut decision and well you cant go wrong with one lol. but in supercross if you didn't really like the way your four stroke hooked up i would go with a two stroke it is a "slidding bike" as in what i mean is it doesn't grab a lot of traction. you would have to keep it reved out a lot yet it is slightly lighter and easier to work on.

This battle between two and four stoke motors will go on forever they both have ups and downs that are good and bad, its all personal preference. Go to your dealer and check out what they got and see what you would like.

All in all, no its not, but it does depend on how you ride and how much experience you have

  3. Although 2 strokes are lighter than 4 strokes (which is why FMX riders use them) I can say from experience that they are both exactly the same and if not, it's not even noticeable.  I had a CR125 and currently own a KX250F. Both handled great and I had no problem whatsoever maneuvering the 4 stroke compared to the 2. Hope it helps.

  4. No!

There is no reason why the 4 stroke would be harder.  The 4 strokes power is smoother than the 2 strokes.  The 2 stroke would be easier to throw around as they are slightly lighter, but the power is uneven..

  5. No .... Its just a different riding style. different characteristics, the main being what happens when you shut off the throttle. But if you started on a four stoke the change to a two would be just as strange.

  6. It depends on the rider i think 4strks are easier on the track cause u dont have to keep them revved up!

  7. 4 strokes r ways easier
