  1. Seems to me that you are a Christian cuz i have seen you posting a similar answer in the Greek section. Anyways, anywhere you go around the world that has big percentages of both Muslims and Christians living together under one land, would cause tensions. Lebanon is not an exception.

By the way you could also switch the question vice versa, it could also be "is it true that the Muslims of Lebanon dont like the Christians living there?" It can go both ways, not one.

  2. It seems to me that the Christians have a superiority complex, cuz they are aware that the modernity of their country is due to their culture.

If Lebanon was inhabited only by muslims, the country would be like other countries in Middle East.

  3. I can say that if there is a dislike between a Muslim and a Christian, it's an ordinary dislike, nothing caused by religion, as the 2 religious "camps" are opened to each other because they have to, being close to each others, and mixed marriages do happen. Of course you can find some people who dislike others because they are from other religions, but these are few because most of the Lebanese are opened to differences. Then, in a general view, there is no serious hate between the different religions.

  4. haha funny question really

if u look at our politicans today. there are some muslims-christians on 1 side and muslims-christians on the other side.

  5. If i tell you that you're wrong you won't believe me...so I will not waste your time and mine and I will tell you that when you are making a friend you never ask if he is muslim or christian...so friendship like that happen therefore, pple from different sects like each other.

  6. People are people & there are prejudices & bias among all mixed groups !

There are mixed religions in many families , mine included & out of that comes knowledge & respect.

Extremism of any sort isn't healthy but the important thing  needs to be respect & love for others ...

  7. What I've noticed is not a feeling of hatred, but a strong distrust and feeling of suspicion directed towards the Muslims in Lebanon.  A relative once suggested that the problem was that there were a few Muslim radicals, but the majority of the "okay" Muslim population will tolerate radical action - from this stems a feeling of caution, but I have never heard of "hate crimes" directed towards Muslims (ie, there are no unprovoked attacks like you would see here against blacks, hispanics, jews, g**s, etc).

As for the comment about Christian Lebanese selling halal meat - Lebanese Christians abroad feel much more secure in their environment and do not have to fear what the Muslims could do (like force an Islamic state upon them, a very real fear for many that I know).  Muslims abroad are much more "westernized" and more likely to share western values with which LEbanese Christians identify, so its easier to make friends of Muslim Lebanese immigrants.

And also, there is plenty of mixing between the religions in Lebanon itself...so its not like the populations are entirely polarized, but rather that people distrust the other group until they get to know them and can befriend them.

  8. No its not true,Muslims marry Christian and Christians marry Muslims, they are family and now they hold hands as one.14march or 8 march.

  9. Then why do the Lebanese Christians run all the 'halal' stores here in Toronto?

  10. kate is right but some Christians dislike some muslims and vice versa

  11. Lebanese people are proud of their diversity.

  12. Mark darling, you're getting a little boring.

All your questions are aimed at picking a riot, we've seen people before you try and fail, now go play in your own playground.

  13. I am not living in Lebanon, but I havent seen that there now, They were separated during the civil war, but are smart enough as to understand that they need to be united., to go ahead as a country.
