Is it true that the ERA would have prevented VAWA?

In response to a comment on another question, is it true that the ERA would have prevented VAWA and if so, what else, and what are your thoughts on that? :-)

Will the Equal rights bill was suppose to be this "super bill"...making it impossible to pass any sexist laws.

just in name the VAWA goes against  the ERA.

yet somehow we ended up with the vawa and not the era....

Because the who is who in the power and political circles supported by certain social groups globally does not beleive in human rights or equality for all humans.

One section of human society must pay for the privileges given to another.

That is classical example of gender politics.!!!

You want some example then check the DMV law passed in india.

Nowadays even a girlfirend can get alimony in india in a livein relationship but the opposite is not possible.LOL!!!!
